MOTO’s Determined Cyclists Complete the Big Battlefield Bike Ride 2018
Moto’s ten strong team of cyclists are celebrating back on home soil this week having completed the Big Battlefield Bike Ride in aid of national charity partner Help for Heroes.
Riding alongside over 200 fellow fundraisers and members of the wounded, injured and sick military community, the team cycled 350 miles in five days (June 10th – 15th) through France and Belgium following in the footsteps of the Allied forces during the First World War.
The journey, ever more poignant this year, the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, started in Compiegne, the site of the Armistice before heading through the battlefields of the Somme and towards Mons, Belgium where the first and last shots were fired.
So far the team; David Bold, David Agnew, James Gunn, Aaron Hunt, Jess Carr, Ivan Joseph, Leigh Burns, Matt Noble, James Crawford and Nadia Hoffreiterova have raised an astonishing £24,000 for Help for Heroes.
Staff at sites across the country have joined in the fundraising effort by cycling stationary bikes on site and other fundraising activity to contribute to the overall total.
